Francesca Gabbiani
“Here comes Francesca and her elaborate entrances into other worlds,” pronounces artist Ed Ruscha

Born 1970, New York City
Lives and works in London

Luke Dowd’s images mediate upon the volatile world of value. Readily available materials like spray paint and paper recreate the almost mythical lustre of diamonds. On common sheets of paper, painted diamonds seem to do the opulent work of the real things, reflecting and refracting light, providing glimmers of the better life promised within the system of value in which we toil.

Robin Cameron
One of my favs.

From her Description of Practice:

Currently I have been rethinking my artistic practice with much more vigor. I have been thinking about interpreting my own ideas about self-portraiture, specifically, utilizing the artist book as self-portrait. I have been analyzing my own creative process and creating work that exposes my internal dialogue. Within these works I would like to strive to create a shared experience with the viewer. I have been reflecting on the abstract drawings that I have been working on and am realizing that they have shifted to a particular kind of distraction.
